I'm walking 60 Miles!

Tuesday the 25th of March, 2008

Call me crazy, but I have taken on an incredible challenge. On November 14th I'll be walking 60 miles over the course of three days, camping out at night with thousands of other women and men taking this journey with me.

It's for an event called the Breast Cancer 3-Day, which benefits Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund. Every advancement in breast cancer research, treatment, education and prevention in the last 25 years has been touched by a Komen for the Cure grant. They are working hard to build a future without breast cancer.

There are a couple of reasons why I have decided to walk. The first being that Ryan's mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer this past year. Phyllis just finished her final round of radiation and we now pray that she is on her way to recovery. Ryan and I are so proud of her; she truly is a strong woman. I want to walk to show my support of Phyllis and all of the other incredible women out there. My other reason for walking is that I want to do something that could both challenge me mentally and physically. This walk definitely seems to fit! I am so excited and know that this will be a life changing experience.

The part I hate about this who thing is asking for donations... That being said, I need your help. Each walker must raise at least $2,200 in order to participate in the walk. Your donation in any amount is greatly appreciated. With everyone's encouragement and support, I know we can all make a difference.

Without a cure, one in eight women in the U.S. will continue to be diagnosed with breast cancer. That's why I'm walking in the 3-Day. Because everyone deserves a lifetime.

Where does the time go?

Wednesday the 12th of September, 2007

The kids are growing up so fast, we're all doing our best to keep up. Isaac just turned 3 and is as cute as ever. He is always surprising us with new phrases, and constantly keeps us laughing. Leah will be 1 next month and she is our little terror. Everything she does is done with a smile on her face. Leah has taken 4 steps so far, so I assume she will be walking in no time. Ryan and I haven't changed... The kids are keeping us young and happy.

Sunday the 18th of February, 2007

Sorry it's been so long since I've done an update. The kids are keeping us very busy. Leah is almost sitting by herself already, and Isaac surprises us with something new each day. Leah now weighs 12lbs and is 26in.

The movies have been removed from the website to create more space for pictures.

Isaac is now around 16 months old, and he is the typical little boy. He always amazing us with how he gets into everything and his total lack of fear. He is adding more words to his vocabulary everyday, and we always enjoy listening to him when he feels talkative.

The new news thing.

Thursday the 21st of October, 2004

I completed work on a news logging feature on the website. This will allow us to share things that don't quite fit into the image gallery, such as news, movies, links to important things, etc.

I've also added a few entries from the past that should have been added (if I'd have had this working then). These have been back dated to the appropriate day... just pretend with me that they have been here all along! :)
